LG, Microsoft Form Strategic Alliance

LG announced on November 3 that the company and Microsoft have signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding), whereby they will collaborate on converged mobile devices, such as Smartphones, according to a press release by LG. LG stated that the partnership will focus on R&D, marketing, applications, and services. Further details of the deal were not yet disclosed.

Meanwhile, Korea's Ministry of Knowledge Economy stated that Microsoft will invest US$60 million over the next three years to help Korea develop its software industry and offer related technical support and resources, according to a report by Dow Jones.
